Oddly Moving was created to share unusual, intimate, playful & thought provoking stories that are accessible to broad audiences using an eclectic mix of physical theatre, storytelling and circus skills. We are a female-led company and create work that gently challenges the status quo.
Oddly Moving
was established by Grania in 2016 and is produced by Turtle Key Arts.

Our debut show ‘He Ain't Heavy’ told the story of Grania growing up with her disabled autistic brother Sean and toured the UK extensively. The show used physical theatre, aerial circus, audience interaction, storytelling and puppetry to reveal to the audience how Sean walks, talks and interacts with the world as well as how his unique take on life has shaped Grania.

"When people ask me about my brother I usually give them the short answer; he has severe learning disabilities, epilepsy and autism. He Ain't Heavy is the long answer. As Sean cannot go on a national tour due to a love of routine and no concept of theatre, we are going to bring him into the room in other ways."

We went on to premier our second show ATLAS in 2022, a circus adaptation of the Greek myth Atlas counterpointed with the story of a child trying to hold her world together.

Atlas will be back on tour in 2023.
